A Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled, 3-Arm, Parallel-Group, Multicenter Study to Evaluate the Efficacy, Safety, and Tolerability of Canagliflozin in the Treatment of Subjects With Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus With Inadequate Glycemic Control on Metformin

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of 2 different doses of canagliflozin compared with placebo in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who are receiving treatment with metformin monotherapy (ie, treatment with a single drug) and have inadequate glycemic (blood sugar) control.本研究旨在评估两种不同剂量的卡格列净（canagliflozin）相较于安慰剂，在接受二甲双胍单药治疗（即仅使用单一药物治疗）且血糖（blood sugar）控制不佳的2型糖尿病患者中的疗效与安全性。
