VPRS 17564 Enlistment Record Cards - World War 1 to World War 2

This series contains enlistment record cards of local men from Richmond. They include separate sets for WWII Army, WWII Air Force, Navy (including inter-war period) and WWI Army. Each card contains the person's name, rank or rating and service number, address on enlistment, name, address and relationship of next of kin and in most cases date of enlistment. Some give details of the person's fate, e.g. Died while a Prisoner of War or Discharged while on overseas service. Service numbers of WWII Army enlistment are distinguised by a VX prefix.

本数据集收录了里士满本地男性的入伍登记卡片，涵盖四个独立子类：第二次世界大战（WWII）陆军、第二次世界大战（WWII）空军、海军（含两次大战间期）以及第一次世界大战（WWI）陆军。每张卡片均记录了当事人姓名、军衔或职级、服役编号、入伍时住址、直系亲属的姓名、住址及亲属关系，多数情况下还包含入伍日期。部分卡片还记载了当事人的后续去向细节，例如“被俘期间死亡”或“海外服役期间退伍”。第二次世界大战陆军入伍人员的服役编号均以VX作为前缀以作区分。
