资源简介:
Dispersion of crude oil in sea water following a spill may occur naturally (e.g., by wave action) or via the application of chemical dispersants such as Corexit 9500. Furthermore, the energy associated with natural mixing of crude oil (and dispersant) with sea water may vary in intensity from low to high (e.g., high energy mixing from the riser pipe at the site of release). Although Corexit was applied at both the site of release and the sea surface during the Deepwater Horizon spill, where mixing energies differed, the impacts on mixing energy and PAH dissolution from oil-dispersant mixtures remains unclear. This test sought to address this gap in knowledge by measuring total PAH, BTEX and DOSS from MASS WAFs generated with and without Corexit 9500 prepared at low and high mixing energies. This dataset includes all PAH and DOSS measurements from these various WAF preparations.
