Escherichia coli strain K1508 is the lamB deletion mutant of E. coli K12 strain MC4100. Since variation in stocks of K12 strains between different laboratories is common, genome sequencing of E. coli strain K1508 was performed to identify previously unidentified differences from the parent strain E. coli K12 strain MC4100 (accession HG738867.1). This was done by variant calling, variant incorporation and changes to the reference using Pilon v1.23.
