Global dominance of seasonality in shaping lake surface extent dynamics

This repository contains monthly lake surface extent maps used in the manuscript "Global dominance of seasonality in shaping lake surface extent dynamics". Note that these are unprocessed maps containing uncertainties from cloud contamination (basin-wise medians <2%) and lake frozen periods (post-processing is performed on the time-series level as described in the manuscript). Each basin (BasinATLAS level-02) is projected using a unique Lambert Azimuthal Equal Area (LAEA) projection, as specified in the accompanying .wkt files.
