These datasets comprise a comprehensive array of figures and tables integral to the thesis. Within Chapter 1, figures elucidate the intricate dynamics of plant-microbe interactions, shedding light on the current understanding of plant immunity while underscoring the prevailing knowledge gaps concerning orchid mycorrhizae. Moving into Chapter 2, the figures delve into the morphology of fungi and present a phylogenetic tree delineating the novel orchid mycorrhizae unearthed from the orchid <em>Epidendrum</em> x  <em>obrienianum</em> in South Africa. Chapter 3's figures encapsulate the outcomes of an investigation into the correlation between fungal diversity and the distribution patterns of <em>Epidendrum</em> hybrids, employing Microbiomeanalyst and R Studio for data analysis. Finally, Chapter 4's figures showcase the phylogenetic tree tracing the genome of <em>Ceratobasidium papillatum</em>, meticulously constructed through the utilization of MAFT, IQTree, and FigTree.
