Personal whole genome sequencing of Masaru Tomita. Homo sapiens

The era of personal genomics is fast approaching, in light of the recent advent of high-throughput sequencing. While personal genomics will bring significant medical and clinical merit, the current level of public education for the interpretation of these implications and risks is far from being sufficient. Moreover, such education requires a model case senarios and accompanying material as examples. Here we provide the personal whole genome sequence of a Japanese molecular biologist/computer scientist Masaru Tomita so that it can be used as an educational material for personal genomics.
