Whole genome shotgun sequencing of the anglerfish Gigantactis vanhoeffeni and Gigantactis cheni

Members of the deep-sea anglerfish (Teleost sub-order Ceratioidei) have complex reproductive strategies that involve temporary or even permanent attachment between male and female partners, and his unusual mode of reproduction is associated with progressive alterations in adaptive immunity. To gain new insights into the diversity and evolution of deep-sea anglerfish immunogenomes, we have sequenced genomic DNA from two species of the Gigantactinidae family: Gigantactis vanhoeffeni and Gigantactis cheni.
