Data for: When Progress at Work Reaches Home: Linking Parents’ Work Goal Progress to Preschoolers’ Emotion Regulation

This dataset contains the de-identified data from two studies examining whether parents’ work goal progress is associated with preschoolers’ emotion regulation through a cognitive–regulatory transmission process involving work-related rumination and parental cognitive reappraisal. Study 1 included 603 working parents and used a three-wave questionnaire design. Study 2 included 238 parent–child dyads and combined parent-report measures with an observational disappointing-gift task assessing children’s emotion-regulation behavior. The data include measures of work goal progress, work-related rumination, parental cognitive reappraisal, preschoolers’ emotion regulation, and relevant demographic variables. Across both studies, the results supported the proposed serial pathway from greater work goal progress to lower work-related rumination, greater cognitive reappraisal, and better child emotion regulation. The dataset can be used to reproduce the descriptive, correlational, regression, and serial mediation analyses reported in the associated manuscript. Raw video recordings from Study 2 are not included because they contain identifiable information about child participants.本数据集包含两项研究的去标识化数据（de-identified data），这两项研究旨在探讨父母的工作目标进展是否通过涉及工作相关反刍（work-related rumination）与父母认知重评（parental cognitive reappraisal）的认知调节传递过程，与学龄前儿童的情绪调节存在关联。研究1纳入603名在职父母，采用三波问卷研究设计。研究2纳入238组亲子配对样本（parent-child dyads），结合了父母自评量表与一项用于评估儿童情绪调节行为的观察性失望礼物任务（observational disappointing-gift task）。本数据集涵盖工作目标进展、工作相关反刍、父母认知重评、学龄前儿童情绪调节以及相关人口统计学变量的测量数据。两项研究的结果均证实了所提出的链式通路：更高的工作目标进展可降低工作相关反刍、提升父母认知重评水平，进而改善儿童的情绪调节能力。本数据集可用于复现关联研究论文中报道的描述性分析、相关分析、回归分析以及链式中介分析（serial mediation analyses）。由于研究2的原始录像包含儿童参与者的可识别信息，故未纳入本数据集。
