Detection and molecular characterisation of Actinomyces denticolens as a cause of (submandibular) lymph node abscessation in Dutch horses

In this study, we report three unrelated cases in which A. denticolens was isolated from submandibular abscesses of horses in the Netherlands. Additionally, we describe the susceptibility for the most common antibiotics and report whole genome sequencing results, showing low genetic variability between the different isolates and low presence of known virulence and antibiotic resistance genes.
