Long-term monitoring of surface water in central Arizona-Phoenix: period 1997 to 2008

The main aim of this project is to initiate and develop a field sampling program designed to answer the following questions: (1) What are the concentrations and amounts of key nutrients, salts and trace metals being imported to and exported from the CAP LTER urban areas in surface waters (rivers and canals)? (2) How do these terms change over time in response to increasing urbanization and variations in climate? (3) What are the spatial patterns of accumulation and export, and how do these relate to specific land use patches?本项目的核心目标是启动并构建一套野外采样计划，以解答如下问题：（1）在地表水体（河流与运河）中，输入并流出CAP长期生态研究站点（CAP LTER）城市区域的关键营养盐、盐分与微量金属的浓度与总量分别为多少？（2）上述指标随城市化进程推进与气候变化波动将发生何种时序变化？（3）物质累积与输出存在何种空间分布格局，且该格局与特定土地利用斑块之间存在何种关联？
