This study investigates the impact of catchwater diversions on ecosystem functioning and fauna connectivity in Hong Kong streams. The project compares obstructed upstream segments against downstream and control sites across five different stream systems. The dataset includes seasonal environmental monitoring and biodiversity surveys alongside stable isotope analysis of 1615 samples and genomic data from 120 individuals of Rhinogobius duospilus to assess population structure.The data files encompass environmental, ecological, and genetic records collected during the study. They contain field measurements of stream conditions and biodiversity indices alongside stable isotope signatures used to reconstruct food webs. The dataset also includes genomic sequencing quality reports and processed genetic data describing population differentiation and diversity. Additionally, the repository contains the computational scripts used to process the raw biological data and calculate the reported ecological and evolutionary metrics.
