ODP 1027C Circulation Obviation Retrofit Kit Deployed 2011-07-11

The CORK P (1027C) was deployed on 2011-07-11 at ODP 1027C. ODP 1027C is a borehole site used to pinpoint an area within Cascadia Basin. This device is a Circulation Obviation Retrofit Kit. Circulation Obviation Retrofit Kit (CORK) instruments seal the top of boreholes, to prevent circulation between the open hole and the ocean bottom water. CORKs monitor subseafloor hydrology by collecting in-situ pressure and temperature measurements from the formation deep below the seafloor. It was deployed on a fixed platform. Data from this deployment were archived and made available through Ocean Networks Canada's Oceans 3.0 digital infrastructure, with quality assurance and derived data products following established practices.
