The Electoral Officer provides for the division of the territory of the municipality into electoral sections, determines its constituency, identifies the place of meeting, assigns the voters to each of them Articles 34 - 41 of Presidential Decree No 223 of 20 March 1967, to which Article 7(2) of Regional Law No 19 of 5 December 2013 refers. As a rule, the number of members for each electoral section must not exceed 1 200 and must not be less than 500, with possible exceptions for particular conditions of remoteness and viability. In Modena, the last rebalancing aimed at recalculating the number of electoral sections from nr 187 to nr 190 as well as the rebalancing of the voting body in each of them dates back to 2018 - The figure comes from calculations that identify the electoral sections on the basis of the number of voters they must contain.选举官员负责将市镇行政辖区划分为选举分区，划定各分区的选区边界，确定投票会议场所，并将选民分配至各对应分区。前述设置规则依据1967年3月20日第223号总统令第34至41条，而2013年12月5日第19号地区性法律第7条第2款亦援引该条款。原则上，各选举分区的选民人数上限为1200人，下限为500人，仅在偏远或特殊存续条件下可允许例外情形。就意大利摩德纳市而言，最近一次区划调整始于2018年，旨在将选举分区总数从187个重新核定为190个，并同步调整各分区内的选民规模；前述分区总数系依据各分区应承载的选民人数核算得出。
