Suppression of cyanobacteria in Muskegon Lake (USA) water mesocosms using glucose compared to hydrogen peroxide

Harmful cyanobacterial blooms threaten freshwater ecosystems. Current HCB control measures involve the addition of chemical agents, like hydrogen peroxide and copper sulfate. In this study, Cyanobacteria suppression, using either glucose or hydrogen peroxide, was evaluated in Muskegon Lake water in the large mesocosms at the Grand Valley State University Annis Water Resources Institute facility in Michigan.
