Guideline-based education provided to newly graduated nurses (NGNs) involves nurse instructors who may be inexperienced, leading to increased burden and anxiety related to teaching NGNs. To support these nurses, this study aimed to test the reliability and validity of a scale measuring the teaching experiences of NGNs. A cross-sectional survey of the original draft of the scale consisting of 72 items, developed based on previous research, was conducted among nurses in their third to fifth years of working in Japanese hospitals with 400 or more beds. Exploratory factor analysis and factor-item consistency were assessed. Responses were obtained from 163 participants, and data from 157 participants were included in the analysis. Exploratory factor analysis revealed 27 items comprising five factors (Factor 1: Experience of receiving cooperation from others, Factor 2: Experience of being there for the NGNs, Factor 3: Experience of feeling positive about teaching, Factor 4: Experience of struggling with teaching, and Factor 5: Experience of teaching according to level of achievement).
