Observatoire des Sediments du Rhône

The Observatoire des Sédiments du Rhône (OSR) was created in 2009 following questions that emerged as part of the Rhône Plan. On the Rhône, from Geneva to the Mediterranean, a linear of more than 500 km, this observatory aims to produce, collect and manage data aimed at characterising stocks and sediment flows, as well as pollution associated with these sediments.The OSR is a research programme funded under the Rhône Plan and is supported by the European Fund for Regional Development.
The OSR is a research programme bringing together scientists (CNRS, Irstea, ENTPE, IRSN, Ifremer) and the main managers of the river (DREAL, Agence de l’Eau, CNR, the Rhône-Alpes regions, Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur and Languedoc-Roussillon, and EDF). It is one of the observatories of the Zone Atelier du Bassin du Rhône (ZABR).
