Dataset for - Cultural Contours of Emotion in Public Communication: The Impact of Emotional Messaging on Citizen Evaluation, Satisfaction, and Service Experience in Tight (Japan, Taiwan) vs Loose Cultures (Netherlands, US).

Based on the cultural tightness-looseness theory, this case study explores the impact of emotional public communication at various stages of citizens' interactions with public services and local policy programs. In particular, it explores the importance of emotional and rational messages in pre-engagement evaluation, post-engagement satisfaction, and lived service experience in culturally tight and loose societies.
