Pseudomonas tolaasii strain:A46 Genome sequencing and assembly

This project focuses on the rhizobacterial strain A46, identified as Pseudomonas tolaasii, and its ability to inhibit the plant-pathogenic fungus Rhizoctonia solani. Although A46 does not produce chitinases or volatile compounds, it consistently slowed down fungal growth in dual culture tests, suggesting that other bacterial metabolites are responsible for this effect. The culture filtrate of A46 also showed antifungal activity, which increased when the bacterium was co-cultured with the fungus. When applied to Serrano chili seedlings, A46 helped reduce mortality caused by R. solani, indicating its potential use as a biological control agent in early plant growth stages.
