Male heterozygosity was calculated for each clone as the number of heterozygous loci divided by the total number of loci. Genetic similarity was estimated using the r coefficient of Wang [20]. ΔH represents the difference between the heterozygosity of the newcomer male and the heterozygosity of the first male. ΔD represents the difference between the genetic similarity between the first male and the female and the genetic similarity between the newcomer male and the female. *indicates that one mouse died before the end of the experiment.
