ApiAP2 transcription factor, PfAP2-G2 (PF3D7_1408200) plays a critical role in the maturation of Plasmodium falciparum gametocytes. To characterize the expression of the PfAP2-G2 and to learn about its genome-wide targets we tagged the gene at the C-terminus with GFP. This recombinant line was verified using PCR and whole-genome sequencing. To understand the function of PfAP2-G2, we created pfap2-g2 disrupted line which was verified by PCR and whole-genome sequencing.
