In my research, I conducted a retrospective comparative study on hematological abnormalities associated with malaria in travelers returning from endemic regions, who sought care at the Mohamed V Military Instruction Hospital in Rabat. The study spans a six-year period, from January 2017 to December 2023, and aims to identify the most relevant hematological parameters for diagnosing malaria.<br> Objective:My primary goal is to determine which hematological parameters are the most specific and sensitive for diagnosing malaria in returning travelers. This is particularly important because malaria symptoms, such as fever, are often nonspecific, making diagnosis challenging. Study Population:I included 829 patients in my study, all of whom returned from malaria-endemic areas and were treated at the Mohamed V Military Instruction Hospital. The collected data include demographic information, parasitological test results, clinical signs, chemoprophylaxis intake, and results from hematological and biochemical tests.
