Effects of different diets on microbiome diversity of rumen liquor in dairy goats

Ruminal microbiota plays a pivotal role in defining milk fatty acids profile, but diet modification relevantly influence its composition affecting its profile and metabolism.The aim of this study was to evaluate rumen fatty acid profile and rumen microbial population inresponse to diets containing hemp or linseed supplementation in dairy goats. Ruminal microbiotacomposition was determined using Next Generation Sequencing, in 18 pluriparous Alpine goats fed the same pretreatment diet for 40 days and then arranged to three dietary treatments consisting of control, linseed and hemp seeds supplementation diets.
