Planned power plant capacity additions in Brazil 2023, by source

As of August 2023, planned additions to the electricity generation capacity in Brazil from photovoltaic sources amounted to over 121 gigawatts, of which around seven gigawatts would be produced by plants already under construction. Additions from wind sources amounting to nearly 5.9 gigawatts were also under construction in the country. At that point in time, Brazil's electricity capacity in operation surpassed 196 gigawatts.
