资源简介:
FOXM1 increases beta cell proliferation and mass in aged male mice. Previous work also demonstates that reducing Foxm1 in the beta cell had a larger effect on male than female beta cell function. Here we investigate differences in FOXM1 action in the beta cell due to sex. Overall design: Previous work demonstrated that reducing Foxm1 in the b-cell had a larger effect on male than female b-cell function. We access whether these differences result from estrogen receptor (ER)alpha action, since estrogen contributes to diabetes susceptibility differences between males and females and ERalpha is the primary mediator of B-cell estrogen signaling.
