3' end mapping of nascent HIV-1 reverse transcripts during infection of CEM-SS T cells in the presence of APOBEC3G. Nascent HIV reverse transcripts

Infection of T cells with HIV results in reverse transcription of the genomic RNA into single stranded and then double stranded DNA. This study provides a sequencing method for nascent single stranded DNA molecules, which maps free 3' ends at the time of harvest. Used with different antiviral conditions this method can distinguish different modes of inhibition of reverse transcription.
