The genome of Micrococcus yunnanensis strain P9AGU-1 was sequenced and annotated to investigate its unique adaptations to environmental stress. This strain was isolated from an extreme environment located in the crater of the Chichonal volcano, in Chiapas, Mexico, and exhibits remarkable features such as thermotolerance, halophilicity, and acid pH tolerance. Additionally, its ability to withstand high concentrations of paracetamol, ibuprofen, and diclofenac is being explored. This study aims to identify key genes responsible for these adaptations and expand our understanding of the metabolic and ecological capabilities of Micrococcus yunnanensis.
