Employed labour force; profession

This table provides quarterly and annual figures for the occupations in which the employed labour force is employed. The population aged 15 to 75 (excluding the institutional population) with paid employment is classified on the basis of the profession (BRC 2014). A breakdown by gender, age, educational level, employment position and working hours is available for the different classifications.

Amendments as of 14 November 2023:
The figures for the third quarter of 2023 have been added.
In determining the distinction between offering products or services by self-employed workers, a small error had occurred in the figures from 2021 onwards in people with multiple working circles who changed working hours per job. This error has been corrected and that leads to small differences in the number of freelancers who offer products or services.

Amendments as of 17 August 2022:
None, this is a new table. This table has been compiled on the basis of the Occupational Population Survey (EBB). Due to changes in the EBB’s research design and questionnaire, the 2021 figures are not necessarily comparable to those up to 2020. The key figures in this table have therefore been made consistent with the (non-seasonally adjusted) figures in the Labour Participation table, seasonally adjusted key figures (see paragraph 4), recalculating the results for the period 2013-2020 in order to align with the results from 2021 onwards. In further detailing the results by job and personal characteristics, there may nevertheless be differences between 2020 and 2021 as a result of the new methodology.
