The last decade has seen the emergence of bacteria that previously presented low risk to healthy adults, and could be readily treated with antibiotics. Trough the emergence and spread of antimicrobial resistance mechanisms however, these now pose a major threat for global health. To identify long-term successful multi drug-resistant lineages, this study will investigate whole-genome sequence data from three longitudinal collections each spanning over 10 years sampling in the UK, Malawi and Argentina.
