To study the mechanisms of early HIV latency establishment, we used EHILT to infect primary CD4+ T cells and test the ability of the system to track similar EHILT phenotypes in primary CD4+ T cells We examined EHILT actively infected, latently infected, and dsRed uninfected phenotypes for their transcriptional profiles at single cell resolution using scRNAseq methods.
