Autopolyploidy, or whole-genome duplication, is a widespread phenomenon in plant evolution and speciation, which is crucial for crop breeding. Epigenetic diversity, primarily DNA methylation, is known to be involved in polyploidization events. However, the dynamics of DNA methylation in autotetraploid Arabidopsis ecotypes are still unknown. Here we investigate that the variations of DNA methylation and transcriptomic changes in both 4x Col-0 and 4x Ler-0.
