Strategies to Improve Long Term Islet Graft Survival

Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease in which the insulin-producing pancreatic beta cells are destroyed, resulting in poor blood sugar control. The purpose of this study is to determine the safety and effectiveness of islet transplantation, combined with immunosuppressive medications and medications to support islet survival, for treating type 1 diabetes in individuals experiencing hypoglycemia unawareness and severe hypoglycemic episodes.1型糖尿病（Type 1 diabetes）是一种自身免疫性疾病，患者体内负责合成胰岛素的胰腺β细胞遭到破坏，进而引发血糖调控异常。本研究旨在评估胰岛移植（islet transplantation）联合免疫抑制药物与胰岛存活支持药物，治疗存在低血糖感知减退与严重低血糖发作的1型糖尿病患者的安全性与有效性。
