Share of Japanese who find passive smoking unpleasant 2022, by gender

The majority of Japanese people considered secondhand smoke unpleasant as revealed in a survey conducted in Japan between August and September 2022. The feeling was more pronounced among female respondents with more around 90 percent agreeing that smoke from people lighting a cigarette in their vicinity was unpleasant or rather unpleasant. In comparison, the share of men sharing the sentiment stood at around 75 percent.
