The study on the resistance of Prunus davidiana to green peach aphid

Wild relative germplasm resources are enormous fortune in nature. Prunus davidiana, a close wild relative of the cultivated peach, has been identified that has a strong resistance to green peach aphid (GPA, Myzus persicae Sulzer), one of the major pests on peach. However, the resistance mechanism of P. davidiana remains unclear. In this study, an accession and a susceptible one, from the F2 population of P. davidiana var. Zhouxingshantao, were used to investigate the defense mechanism of P. davidiana.
