Given up for dead three months ago, Rolf Thorvaldson, 31, is greeted by parents Mr. and Mrs. Torger Thorvaldson of West Covina, as he arrived at Los Angeles Harbor (today) Saturday following four months of privation and starvation while sailing his 28-foot boat alone from Tahiti, 6000 miles away. One neg. shows Thorvaldson and his family on the deck of his boat, the Tahia. Beside his craft is the fishing boat Bluefin which towed the Tahea [sic] into harbor when it was becalmed off Palos Verdes. On bridge of fishing boat Bluefin is Frank Donahue, skipper of the fishing boat who sighted the Tahea [sic]".
