A synthetic dataset of categorized winter extreme precipitation events over Southeast China 1961-2020

The climatological EPF dataset based on gauge-based observations is saved in the form of NetCDF format in the file named as epfi. It contains annual EPF index, accumulated precipitation, frequencies of WEPE, and anomalies relative to their climatic averages in chronological order year by year. The event-based dataset is saved in the form of NetCDF format and organized in files of five clusters named after “<cluster>_”. The five clusters are named according to their dominant locations which are HR, YR, CSE, SE, and SC. Each file in each cluster contains detailed rainfall information for each event such as the start and end data, duration, area coverage, intensity, location and time for peak values.
