Fats found in urban sewage are recognized as a major issue, largely because they tend to block systems and disrupt wastewater treatment processes. Nonetheless, these fats also offer potential as a useful resource for creating bio-polyols, which can be applied in fields like polymer manufacturing. This study presents a new method for isolating fats from sewage, alongside an examination of their potential for bio-polyol production. The research included a thorough analysis of the fat component, such as infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), measurement of fat levels, elemental composition analysis, and evaluation of energy content by determining combustion heat. Furthermore, thermal properties were investigated using thermogravimetric analysis (TG) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), while the breakdown patterns of fats were studied through pyrolysis combined with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (Py-GC/MS).
