11k Hands

The 11k Hands Dataset comprises 11,076 hand images (1600 × 1200 pixels) from 190 subjects aged 18 to 75 years. Each subject was instructed to flex and extend the fingers of both their right and left hands. Each hand was captured from both the dorsal and palmar aspects, against a uniform white background, and positioned at approximately the same distance from the camera. Each image is paired with metadata records containing: (1) subject ID, (2) gender, (3) age, (4) skin tone, and (5) a set of attributes for the captured hand, i.e., whether it is the right or left hand, the hand aspect (dorsal or palmar), and binary indicators for whether the hand image contains accessories, nail polish, or anatomical irregularities. This dataset features a substantial volume of hand images with highly detailed metadata. This dataset is freely available for reasonable academic fair use.
