Database created from an open, systematic literature review extracting bacteria log reduction values for chemical and physical water treatment processes. Data show CxT (for chlorine, chloramine, chlorine dioxide, ozone, peracetic acid, performic acid), UV light dosage (low pressure, medium pressure, pulsed), and filtration (microfiltration, ultrafiltration, reverse-osmosis) requirements for corresponding bacteria log reduction. The primary focus of this research was to extract datapoints for bacteria (positive and negative Gram stain; facultative anaerobic and aerobic; rod-, coccoid-, comma- and s-shaped; motile and non-motile; and pathogenic) along with bacteria groupings that include total coliforms, fecal coliforms, and HPC bacteria. Legionella spp. were separated in two as either Legionella pneumophila or non-pneumophila Legionella. In addition to the above bacteria, the database also includes a limited amount of treatment information for other organisms (secondary organisms) gathered circumstantially during the search: amoeba, fungi, bacterial spores, and radio-tolerant/extremophile bacteria. As these organisms were not the primary focus of this literature review, the recording of their treatment data should not be considered exhaustive. This database holds a total 8,031 records (4,822 bacteria and 3,209 secondary organisms).
