The Charleston Police Department thoroughly documents all complaints generated externally by citizens involving its employees. Administrative Investigations are conducted either by first-line supervisors, commanders, or by the Professional Standards Office. The nature of the complaint determines the investigating entity; however, all cases are centrally recorded, tracked and managed by the Professional Standards Office to ensure timely completion and consistency. This PDF includes all events that occurred between January 1, 2017 – December 31, 2017. The Disposition of these investigations were accurate at the time of the report being generated and posted.
