Transcriptomic analysis of snout otter clams (Lutraria rhynchaena) infected with swollen-siphon disease

Swollen-siphon disease has led to severe mortality in snout otter clams (Lutraria rhynchaena), a species of high aquaculture value in Vietnam. In this study, a controlled disease-challenge experiment was conducted by injecting healthy clams with a filtered lysate derived from diseased individuals, followed by observation for up to seven days. Control groups were injected with 0.85% NaCl. Phenotypic characteristics between infected and control clams were examined, and tissue samples (n = 8) were collected 48h post-inoculation for transcriptomic analysis.
