NCEP ADP Operational Global Surface Observations, February 1975 - February 2007

These NCEP ADP operational global synoptic surface data reports were collected from the GTS during time slots centered on the 6-hourly analysis times of their global and regional models. Two types of data were collected and the reports usually include pressure, temperature, dew point depression, wind direction and speed. NCEP also decoded the precipitation data, but only for the U.S. and Canada.The two types are: 1) data from land stations, including SYNOP, METAR, and beginning in the mid 1990s, AWOS and ASOS reports, and 2) data from moving ship, fixed ship, MARS (moving and fixed), and buoys (moored and drifting).本数据集包含美国国家环境预报中心（NCEP）ADP业务化全球天气观测地面数据报告，数据取自全球电信系统（GTS），采集时段围绕其全球及区域数值模式的6小时分析时刻展开。本次共采集两类数据，报告常规包含气压、气温、露点差（dew point depression）、风向与风速。美国国家环境预报中心（NCEP）还对降水数据进行了解码处理，但解码范围仅覆盖美国与加拿大两国。两类数据具体如下：1）陆地台站数据，包含地面天气报（SYNOP）、航空例行天气报告（METAR），以及20世纪90年代中期起新增的自动气象观测系统（AWOS）与自动地面观测系统（ASOS）报告；2）移动船舶、固定船舶、MARS（含移动与固定平台）以及浮标（系泊浮标与漂流浮标）的观测数据。
