"Haus der African-Lakes Co in Chinde 1892." ("House of the African Lakes Co[mpany] in Chinde 1892."). A group of people, probably company members, sits in front of the company building on the porch. Imprinted on the image: "Chinde. Haus der Ostafrikanischen Seengesellschaft. No. 297." ("Chinde. House of the EastAfrican Lake Company. No. 297").; Photo is yellowed. -- The place Chinde exists today three times in East Africa. The one ment here is most probably located at the southern tip of Lake Tanganyika in Zambia.
