Panthera onca (jaguar) genome, mPanOnc1, sequence data

Panthera onca occurs in the Neotropical region, from Mexico to northern Argentina, and in Brazil, it is distributed in almost all biomes, with the exception of the Pampas, where it has already become extinct. This sample of a male individual was collected in Ourilandia do Norte, Para, Brazil by Nereston de Camargo, Jeronymo Dalapicolla, Alexandre Aleixo to generate a high-quality reference genome for Projeto Genomica da Biodiversidade Brasileira (GBB) and Vertebrate Genomes Project (VGP). Sequencing was conducted at the Vertebrate Genome Lab (VGL) at the Rockefeller University, led by Erich D. Jarvis, Giulio Formenti, and Jennifer Balacco.
