In this study, a self-stabilizing pepper variety, H18, with colored fruits was selectively bred from the Vegetable Research Institute of the Anhui Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences through targeted breeding efforts. In the springtime, we cultivated the H18 chili pepper variety at the Gangji demonstration base of the Anhui Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and sampling of its fruits at different developmental stages, purple pepper fruit stage H18-P (10 days after pollination, DAP), to gradually faded purple, showing off-white fruit stage H18-W (20 DAP), and then began to gradually change to orange H18-O (30 DAP), and finally fruit ripening showed red H18-R (45 DAP).Study the mechanism of H18 pepper color transfer and search for candidate genes through transcriptome data.
