Flood mitigation measures were investigated for eliminating flood\r\nproblems for the 1% annual exceedance probability flood for:\r\nGreystanes Creek from Fox Hills Golf Course to Fitzwilliam Road,\r\nToongabbi e,\r\nPendle Hill Creek from the Great Western Highway to Fitzwilliam\r\nRoad, Toongabbie, and\r\nThe Confluence Area extending from Fitzwilliam Road, on both creeks,\r\nto Toongabbie Creek, including the confluence of Greystanes Creek\r\nwith Pendle Hill Creek.\r\nThe capacities of all channels, bridges and culverts in the Study Area\r\nwere assessed and compared with the 1% flood estimate for existing\r\nconditions and for conditions with the upstream retarding basins\r\ncompleted. On the basis of the comparison those structures which were\r\ninadequate.

本研究针对年超越概率1%的设计洪水,开展洪水缓解措施相关研究,以消除以下区段的洪涝灾害隐患: 1. 格雷斯坦斯溪(Greystanes Creek):从福克斯山高尔夫球场至菲茨威廉姆路路段; 2. 通加比(原文拼写为Toongabbi e,疑似存在输入笔误); 3. 彭德尔希尔溪(Pendle Hill Creek):从大西部公路至菲茨威廉姆路路段,位于通加比区域; 4. 汇流区域:沿两条溪流的菲茨威廉姆路区段延伸至通加比溪(Toongabbie Creek),涵盖格雷斯坦斯溪与彭德尔希尔溪的汇流区段。 研究区域(Study Area)内所有渠道、桥梁与涵洞(culverts)的过流能力均得到评估,并分别与现有工况以及上游滞洪盆地(retarding basins)建成后的工况下的1%洪水估算值进行对比。基于上述对比结果,识别出过流能力不足的水利设施。
