AbstractObjective: The purpose of this study was to examine the research trends of artificial intelligence (AI) in the physical education curriculum.Materials and Methods: This research employed a bibliometric mapping and analysis approach using data retrieved from the Web of Science database. The extraction and analysis of information structures, exchange patterns in the research domain, and interpretation of relationships among keywords were conducted using VOSviewer software (version 1.6.20). The study population consisted of 1,628 research and review articles published in English between 2020 and 2025.Discussion and Conclusion: The results indicated a rising trend in the number of publications from 2023 to 2025. The leading countries in terms of scientific output were the United States, China, and Australia, while the most productive institutions included the University of Illinois System, the University System of Ohio, and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Overall, interest in the concept of artificial intelligence has increased over time. The findings highlight a rapid surge in research following 2023, dominance by English-speaking countries, and a thematic focus on concepts such as generative artificial intelligence, feedback mechanisms, and personalized learning. The notion of AI has been predominantly integrated with abstract concepts, underscoring the need for greater attention to AI-related themes in physical education curriculum research.
