The autonomous driving dataset for this study was designed from the VOC2007 and Traffic Signs datasets. The VOC2007 dataset consists of 9,963 images with 19 classes: “Person, Bird, Cat, Cow, Dog, Horse, Sheep, Aeroplane, Bicycle, Boat, Bus, Car, Motorbike, Train, Bottle, Chair, Dining Table, Potted Plant, Sofa, TV Monitor.” Six classes were extracted: “Cat, Person, Car, Bus, Dog, Bicycle”, which are the classes most likely to be found in autonomous driving; a total of 3,958 images were extracted. Each contributes unique and complementary types of data needed to develop effective cognitive capabilities in autonomous vehicles. The Traffic Signs dataset contains 4,969 images of a number of images of speed limit signs ranging from 20 to 120 (in increments of 10), as well as important traffic signals such as red, green, and stop signs. The value of this data set is to understand and adhere to general traffic rules. The Traffic Signs dataset is essential for autonomous driving to ensure safe and legal driving behaviour.
