Transporter-mediated uptake of environmental L-glutamate in a freshwater sponge

This dataset examines the kinetic transport properties of environmental L-glutamate in the freshwater sponge Ephydatia muelleri. This is the first evidence of carrier-mediated amino acid transport in a freshwater sponge. We do not show evidence of sodium or proton linked transport pathways.
