Phylogeny of Scirtinae (Coleoptera) inferred with ultraconserved elements

Scirtid beetles are a worldwide family that are particularly diverse in Australia with over 300 species described. Previous work on the systematics of the Australian Scirtidae has not resolved the deeper nodes of the phylogenetic trees and a phylogenomics approach is proposed as a way forward. We obtained genomic data from ultraconserved elements of Australian scirtid beetles, along with scirtids from other Northern and Southern Hemisphere countries, to test hypotheses about their evolutionary history.
